It ended up being an easy game after a slow start, but we may have lost our starting quarterback with a broken ankle. And his backup played very bad, to the point we ran with the third-string QB for most of the second half. Sucks.

You know, I was out at lunch today with some folks, and one guy was telling me this story about a Cal-Stanford game. I think the band went down to the field too soon and this poor trombonist got it in the head, or something.

Anyway, it made me think of you.

1982. The Play. Probably one of the most famous plays in college football. I've seen it so many times on tape, but it never gets old. :)

Zibb's got a shirt with the text of the call of that play on the back of it.

To this day, when Stanford wins the Big Game, they replace the 1982 plaque that reads California 25-20, and put on one that reads Stanford 20-19 (the score before the Play happened).
