Cal football fandom
Nov. 18th, 2004 10:24 pmTwo more weeks, two more wins. A bit subdued, though, as Oregon nearly knocked us off, and we played flat the whole first half against the Huskies.
But hey, it's Big Game week. If they can't get excited about Stanford, then they're not Cal players. ;) And we're still #4 in the country.

Date: 2004-11-19 03:58 am (UTC)Glad your team is still doing well.
The poor Gophers...after all the hype at the beginning of the season, they turned into a terrible disappointment. They couldn't beat the Michigan powerhouse. They couldn't get over their loss to Michigan and lose to Michigan State. They let Indiana beat the pulp out of 'em. And they let Iowa beat them by two points the last game of the season.
Where does this leave us? Pontiac, Michigan and the Motor City Bowl....if we're lucky! Sounds like there are a couple at-large no-name Bowl Games we could wind up at, as well.
Maybe next year.

Date: 2004-11-20 02:20 am (UTC)Indiana's a hard team to figure. They beat the Oregon Ducks this year, and that Oregon team nearly knocked Cal off, so go figure.
Neat factoid. With the exception of Arizona, who joined the Pac-10 in 1978 and has never been to the Rose Bowl, every team in the Pac-10 and the Big-10 has gone to the Rose Bowl since Cal's last apperance.
If all goes well and we end up there this year, the team that gets that dubious honour is your Gophers. :P
Good luck to you guys wherever you end up playing, though. :)
