dealing with instructors who don't like me...

waiting on a data run, sorta trying to pay attention in class. It's not holding my interest. Granted, I'm half-asleep too.

I like Brian, and he's doing his best, and he took a lot of time to help me out on Friday, and I owe him.

It's the other instructor I'm not so fond of.

You've seen me mention Glushko around. I'm pretty annoyed with him. Because it's obvious he plays favourites. And it's obvious that I'm not one of his favourites. He can't even manage to acknowledge that I exist. I first noticed this last Thursday at Parker's attempt at disproving that there's no such thing as a free lunch. (He rolled out the barbecue and grilled food left over from Cal Day.)

Well, Glushko was there. He smoozes with students. And he repeatedly pulled people aside to talk to them. But when I attempted to get into a general conversation he was holding with somebody else, he proceeded to ignore anything I said. And so I've been watching and seeing him in the labs, and he'll go talk to other students, but he's not said a word to me. Not a single word. Not even 'hi'. Grr. It really bothers me and something needs to be done.

So...what do I do now? does anybody have any advice? How do I let him know that he's not being fair?

Then again, I'm not a true disciple of the XML way, so there's probably no hope for me.

A) You're a bigger asshole than I thought you were. That took some doing.

B) Go take some elementary spelling and grammar courses, will you? The evidence of your lack of literacy detracts from your otherwise-flawless exhibition of callousness and detachment from reality.

C) Much like I am not holding Christy responsible for your actions, Kat is not to be held responsible for Patrick's. Most people understand this concept; however, since you don't seem to grasp it yet, let me put it into small words for you.

If you have a problem ("beef", to use a slang word that only has one syllable) with Patrick, you should take it to Patrick. Not to Kat, who is, after all, across the continent from you. And who, I will add, has other worries of her own, although you've stated you don't care.

In short: stay the hell away from Kat. She's put up with enough and more than enough from you already. Take it up with me if you have a problem, even -- I assure you, I have no problem blasting you in my journal.

fuck you aiobheil what kind of person are you to pick on people for bad grammer, your no better then patrick or kat, and as for me not caring I never said I didn't it's her asshole bf that keeps saying that were trying to kill her so how is it that I don't care, they made it just as hard for me and Christy during our exams and yet they didn't care so why should I? And I'd love to take my problems up with patrick, but that spinless asshole avoids us every chance I get.

Since this is your entire stated purpose for being here, I'm not putting up it with it. Especially since you only started up after I asked nicely for a two week extension on discussing this all, which I had said I might have needed in March.

I'm the kind who uses correct punctuation, knows when to use an apostrophe, and can spell "grammar" correctly. Enough said.

In case you've forgotten, his livejournal username is zibblsnrt. As opposed, say, to katster. He's not that hard to find, though I don't blame him if he's decided he wants nothing more to do with small-minded, brutish, ignorant people who seem incapable of seeing reason.

and one more thing.. do something that your nation doesn't know how to do and that's keep your big american noses out of problems that do not involve you! That's the reason why sept 11 happened and why it will happen again because you americans don't mind your own business. So you can do like everyone else and grow up and finally understand that you are not god or that you guys don't rule the world and pick on everyone because of problems that have. But I guess that's what happens when theirs a nation of asshole and idiots.

Ahh, yes. I've been properly put in my place, so I have. By someone who couldn't bother to read my userinfo and thus know that I was born and raised in the West Indies. Or perhaps it's just your vaunted want of reading skills at work again.

You came into Kat's journal and attacked her in public. You put your hostility, your callousness, and your ignorance where everyone could see them. As far as I'm concerned, this is no longer a private issue between you and my friends. If you wanted it to be, you should have approached her in a civil manner, ideally even in realtime or through email. The truth is, though, that you weren't interested in resolving anything. Everything you've said in this thread has been an attack, and now that you've been called on it, you want to hide behind yet another attack on nationalistic stereotypes. I'm unimpressed. In fact, I'm disgusted. I say again, leave Kat alone. Take up your problems with the person involved.
