oct 26, homeward bound

somewhere between williams and willows on interstate 5 in california. the sun has just set. i find it striking that on of the things reflecting the sun's last rays was a vapor trail off some southbound jet plane. i wonder where it came from, where it's going, if i know somebody on board.

we've all become more conscious of planes this fall, i think. or maybe i'm the only one. who knows?

i think i'm going to eventually title a story "North of the Sun." dunno what it'll be about yet.

I live under a landing pattern for Travis Air Force Base. Planes big enough to play basketball in fly close enough to my house to interfere with television reception on a regular basis. I've always been pretty concious of planes. ;)
