So yeah, I’m not in my happy place these days. Wednesday was a headache-inducing day, as I sat in the office and couldn’t focus because they’re fixing the light rail across the street. This involved heavy use of the pile driver. So far today, the pile driver has not been invoked, so I’m hoping I’ll actually be able to get some work done.

Then there was the accounting test, the less said about the better. I may lose my record of straight A’s at ARC. I’m sorta resigned to it, as I’ve been having a lot of trouble this term. It’s been busy, what with starting the new job and mom getting a job and whatnot, and some things just have to slip.

And then I get home from the test and find this:

S4010026

S4010027

Yeah, some asshole went and wrote gang graffiti on my car. (I found it last night, but I took the pictures this morning.)

Is it too much to ask to go back to Tuesday and have a do-over on the rest of the week?

Wow. That really sucks. Will insurance cover the cost of fixing the tagging? Or does your deductible pretty much make it a wash?

Sadly, the car is old and crappy, and thus the only insurance I have is collision.

It's been parked for a while, because it's malfuntioning just to the point that I don't trust driving it more than a couple miles from the house.

My dad thinks we can get it off with soap and water and elbow grease, so I suppose that's this weekend's project.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. That will take off almost anything.

Looks like one of those wide markers .. well, the same things you do to remove permanent marker from whiteboards might help.

Try toothpaste with baking soda or a rag with some gasoline soaked into it. Rubbing alcohol, though that's less effective.

Obviously try a small part first.

looking around the net a bit, here's a discussion on a car site about ways to remove it:

That truly sucks. How alarming to have the person be so bold as to tag your car. I did a report on different types of graffiti and met with a detective from the Sacramento PD. He told me a lot of taggers for gangs are around the age of 13 - 15. Not quite ready for full initiation but eager to prove him/ser self. You may want to file a police report as the gang detectives do know some handwriting and tag names of many gang members, here they may be able to identify exactly who did this.

I am also having a less than 4.0 semester but you know personal pride aside...the big payoff is my knowledge gained in this process. The grades are bonus so its ok.

Or so I console myself. :D
