Today's giggle:

the airport code for Sioux City, Iowa is SUX.

Okay, I thought it was funny.

In other news, I'm really having some trouble dealing with life these days. It might simply be midterm stress, and it might be the depression beast's attempts at my head, and who knows, it might be something else entirely. It's hard to say. But for the next couple weeks or so, I could probably use people poking me and reminding me that it's not so bad. I hate asking, because it's kinda silly, but...

Better to ask than to get all frustrated because nobody's noticing.

Yeah. That's about it.

Life, apparently, does *not* suck all around, which comes as a surprise to me sometimes as well. ;-) You and I can poke each other all through November.

Thinking of airport codes: I once put in a hoax bid for Sacramento to host SMOFCon, on the grounds that we could "SMOF in SMF." It was not received as well as I would have liked, because the two serious bids that year were not being friendly with each other, and when it went to a vote, they tied, with "SMFcon" getting three votes, the obvious conclusion being that my hoax bid deadlocked site selection.

(I happen to know who the three people who voted for it were and how they would have voted had the hoax not been there. It turns out the hoax bid had no effect, because one of us would have voted for A, the other for B, and the third wouldn't have gone to the site selection meeting, so the result would have still been a tie. But nobody believes me except the three people who voted.)

Definitely not all bad when you have friends who really care to help you through - and you definitely do.

Coffee soonish?

It's not so bad, you know. You could be without arms, or have an extra ear sticking out of your butt. ;)

When the deer is bedded down,
And the bear has gone to ground,
And the Northern goose has wandered off
To warmer bay and sound,
It's so easy in the cold
To feel the falling of the year,
And the heart is growing lonely
For the morning.

Oh, my Joanie, don't you know
That the stars are swinging low,
And the seas are rolling easy
As they did so long ago.
If I had a thing to give you,
I would tell you one more time
That the world is always
Turning Towards the Morning.
--"Turning Towards the Morning," by Gordon Bok

I think I've quoted it before, and probably will again. In the meantime, what does your doc say about SADS? Does he think you should use a light box?

Also, you need to cheer up by December!

*hugs* We have to get some chatter going about how/when to meet you two! Doug and I are still very much interested in coming to see you - and remembering that always makes *me* smile so hopefully it does you too, sweetie *big hugs*

Miss you! Life really can be amazing, but yeah stress makes everything bleak. It'll turn around - you're not alone.
