I have mochi. And dinner (pea soup) was enjoyed by all present. Still dancing with DJ, but she's getting a bit more confident with me to the point she'll occasionally let me touch her after she licks my hand.

I've forgotten about Bay Area Octobers, so I've been spending a good chunk of the day huddled in my jacket. At least the weather reports show it warming up by Wednesday.

Going to head to bed in a bit, it's been a little bit of a busy day. We'll see how it goes.

Tomorrow? I go markersnarfing with [livejournal.com profile] whytraven up Berkeley way. I need to look at the lists of what's on the registers before she shows up tomorrow morning.

But right now, it's all good. Life is happymaking, and that's always a good sign.

whoops!

I meant to run the heater to burn off the dust. The thermostat is on the wall near the bathroom, but it won't smell good at first, and it's not terribly efficient. The living room doesn't warm up well, I'm sorry. But there are lots of blankets. Also, make sure there's nothing near the heater on the kitchen-side (including the door), and that there aren't any wads of dog hair or other flammable detritus under it before turning it on. I'm really sorry, I meant to set that up before we left.

Heh, it's no big deal. Actually, the last time I lived in Oakland, I never turned the heater on because I lived in sweatshirts the whole time. I've just gotten soft because (a) Valley Octobers are a little warmer (no fog bank) and (b) my mom insists on keeping the temp in our house at "stifling warm". And at night, I've got the heat machine right next to me in the form of Zoe, so it works out. :) (Well, that and my sleeping bag, which I'm using as a blanket, is rated to something like 10F, so it works out.)

If I need to, I will, but it's not quite at the point of "need to". I just needed reminding to put on my jacket yesterday, that's all. :)
