I was thinking shootout, but I didn't think we'd quite make 40 points on Oregon. Of course, I didn't expect Oregon to cough up the ball four times either. And DeSean Jackson brought another punt back for a touchdown, which makes two on the season for him. He's scored a touchdown in every game so far. Next week is the trip to the Palouse to take on the Washington State Cougars, in a game that scares me. (Cal doesn't do well at Washington State.)

Although, I'm not sure *what* to think of the uniforms Cal came out in today. Picture under the cut, with thanks to the SF Chron, where I found the picture.

On KGO the quote about the new uniforms was, "If the players like 'em (and apparently, they do) then I like 'em."

As for the game, I really expected it to be closer.

My concern about the Wazzoo game is that it's a long road trip, a tough place to play, and there's that potential for the letdown after a big win. Still there are some signs of hope. The Pullman airport now allows 737s to land there, thus eliminating a flight to Spokane followed by a bus ride. Plus I have faith in the coaching staff to prevent the letdown.

The bigger the better, the tighter the sweater, the fans are depending on us!

They all look like they have junior high breasts.

I suppose they look a bit more predatory which is great for helping psych out opponents...

Congrats on the win!

That's an impressive win..it's strange, though, that it seems like a more resounding victory than the 31-10 win over 'furd by ND, even though the margin of victory was the same. I suppose that's because I expected ND to score 40+, and it really shouldn't have been only a 7-3 lead in the second quarter; these slow starts are becoming a really bad habit. I should also learn to temper my expectations, since Weis's NFL mentality is all about just getting the W and not trying to impress voters; when he gets ahead by a certain margin, he grinds out the clock as much as possible instead of trying to add on.

The polls are interesting this week, with all the top 20 teams that lost..for the first time I can remember, ND is higher in the USA Today ranking than the AP; 8 and 9 respectively. The coaches have Cal behind Auburn, while the AP has it the other way. Still, the polls these days seem almost a moot point until the BCS standings are released.

Heh, at least their colors aren't red and yellow like McDonalds?

They would probably look a bit better if it was just a tad bit lighter blue, but they're the ones who have to wear them, and they're men. They'd wear blue and gold plaid if you let them.

You can't always trust men to pick clothing. ;)
