sorting through paperwork, and I found this very neatly written on a piece of paper:

1st Tier (Schools I really want to go to):
1. Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA
2. University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA
3. UC Berkeley, Berkeley, CA

2nd Tier (If 1st Tier doesn't work, I want to go here)
1. Harvard University, Cambridge, MA
2. Dartmouth University, Hanover, NH
3. Yale University, New Haven, CT
4. Duke University, Durham, NC

3rd Tier (Schools I can get into, Plan B)
1. Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX
2. Centre College
3. Whitworth College, Spokane, WA

4th Tier (if all else fails)
1. CSU Chico, Chico, CA
2. Shasta College, Redding, CA

...well, I *did* go to a school in my first tier... ;)

hahaha, I laugh cause whitworth even made the list and also because they're third tier. I have two friends that graduated from there. One has a job related to her field, the other works at a kid's museum.. not her field. lol

chico was my "all else fails" school also...my Dad says that when he took me to Berkeley to pick up his diploma when I was 5 (he didn't want to pay to have it mailed so we took a road trip to visit Berkeley and some old friends of his) he told me that this is where I would be going to college (UC Berkeley) and I listened...So I guess I really never had any doubts where I would be going...I remember a few things from the trip (I almost got hit by a car) but I don't remember him instructing me that I would be going to college there...but I obeyed :)

Wow, I love how Harvard's 2nd tier. :P Mine was pretty easy.

1. Apply to almost all UCs (avoid Irvine) and Stanford (parents wanted me to apply to Harvard as well, so I did)
2. I go to the best university I get into
3. Worst case scenario, there's always UC Riverside (which I knew I could get into)

Amusingly enough, I really wanted to go to UCSD, but my parents gave me two choices: UCLA or Cal.
