Okay. I have a request for anybody who wants it.

I'm sleeping for a few hours; I've been up all night trying to get this thing programmed.

These are the things I know about that I know need to be fixed:
* I need to make an about page
* The link box around the logo needs to go away (although, if you recall how to do this, leave it in comments, it'll help. If not, I'll be googling it when I wake back up.)
* the brown box (and yeah, it's purplish in IE, I need to fix that too) needs padding around the edges so the text isn't right on top of the edges.
* Cookies in IE sometimes don't get set. I'm about to just blame this one on IE. (I think I've got this one solved.)
* I need to make the tables look a heck of a lot better on the clubhouse page. (This is as close as I'm getting, I think.)
* Other than the above mentioned *purple* problem in IE, the colors are staying as they are. (hmm, doesn't look so purple today.)

Other than those things, hit it as hard as you can over, say, the next twelve hours, and let me know if you find any bugs. I think I've got the whole thing working correctly, but it helps to have those not intimately involved in the process of making it hit it to spot bugs I otherwise wouldn't have seen.

Also, if you find a bug in the code, let me know your browser and computer type, so I can try to replicate it.

Oh yeah. This thing needs cookies to run, so if you're paranoid about cookies, don't test it. (It sets one with the username on new user creation and login, so I can tell if somebody's logged in.) It also uses javascript, but that's not as mission critical.

Thanks in advance.

one letter names put out the message:

"Only one first name, please"

(no, I wasn't trying to test this -- I was trying my initials)

Cookie syntax isn't quite right I think.

On registration, I get back a cookie, and what an html document (not rendered as text)

wget says:

Syntax error in Set-Cookie: username=neverupdated;expires=Wed, 21-Nov-2046 04:44:00 GMT;path=/;Content-type: text/html at position 81.

so I think you're missing a newline.

This should fix this, and maybe the IE cookie thing. Really odd though. That IE isn't DWIM'ing and fixing the error and taking the cookie.

Didn't notice any other bugs.

One the one name thing, that's deliberate. There's validation code in place to enforce not doing it. (Of course, you just turn off javascript if you don't want to deal with it, but it's a requirement to have form validation in place in javascript.)

As for the cookie, the newline was taken out because I thought that's what was causing IE's cookie trouble, and the example I found on MS's website didn't have the newline. But adding the newline back in with the very specific cookie set to expire in 2046 (yeah, there's a bit of a personal joke as to the day and time I set as the expiration times) and it seems IE is happy with it now, and it won't blow up in Moz either.

Which is always good. I was beginning to fear writing browser check code just to set the damned cookie. ;)

Thanks for helping, and for the code in the other comment.

Ok. Tested at 13:06 MST with Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.3. Registration page worked, except that by using my full last name(Jenkins II) it returned an error claiming I was entering two last names. After that, it terminated on an unfinished "success" page. It remebered the username and password on the returning user login(Veteran) which also terminated in an unfinished "successful login" page. The quiz page worked fine, as did the score page.

Hope this helps.

Okay. The name thing is deliberate, there's validation code in place. It's not as robust as it could be, so it doesn't allow suffixes to names. I have to have validation code in place to meet the javascript requirement of the code. (In other words, that one is deliberate.)

By unfinished, what do you mean? They're short pages, and that's deliberate, but I think I got all the proper code to make them fully functional pages.

Thanks for helping me out, though.

By "unfinished" what I meant was the pages rendered as text, showing me the HTML code rather than the formatted text and stuff I assume you wanted :)

BTW, the aformentioned pages now appear "correctly" :)

Ahhh. This must have been related to the cookie problem [livejournal.com profile] neverupdated told me about. But if it's fixed, that's one less thing to worry about.

Oddly, I didn't see that last night, so...go figure. This is why I ask for other eyes to debug this. :)
