Geographically targetted advertising is getting to be a bigger thing. So they find out where all the IP addresses blocks are, and they can try and target you with "local" advertising. It says I'm in Sunnyvale, which is one city over.

Oh yea, it also says I'm 7890 miles from you. If we talk straight distance, you must be just about at the opposite end of the earth, or along the surface of the earth, you must be a good 1/4 - 1/3 of the way away. Where -are- you?
