Uh.

I've got a weather thing sitting at the bottom of my mozilla window. It just gave a popup that told me the current weather was "Rain".

At that moment, this is what my backyard looked like:

Err. A rain of sunshine?

[Sorry about that big picture. That's the last time I trust semagic to do it for me.]

hey Katster,

could you please put the photo behind a cut tag, or shrink it a *lot*?

It makes my whole friends page text go off the screen to the right... *sigh*

thanks!

Argh, I'm really sorry about that.

I trusted my client to do it right and it didn't, so that's the last time I'll use it for this sort of thing.

Hope that's much better now.

oh yes. thanks so much!

(the Astronomy Picture of the Day feed does that sometimes, too; when that happens, I'm just stuck with the scroll-everything-off-to-the-right page.)

The AccuWeather feed that goes into ForecastFox is anything but "Accu", in my experience (assuming that's what you're using).

depending on what

service that weather software uses you may be quite a bit away from the station - it may rain there. I Switched away from the 'normal' station that http://www.weatherunderground.com suggests for Cologne because it thinks that the airport weather is the same as the city weather ( and 10 miles difference , open country vs brownstones and 150 feet lower do make a difference )

I just go to Weather.com. They have a box where you put in your zip code, and they give you a full report of what things are like in your city and the area surrounding it. It's nice. I just put my zip code in, then bookmarked it, so I didn't have to wait for my personal forecast. The only bad thing about the page is LOTS of pop-ups.. like everytime I load it, I get one flash advertisement that I have to close to see anything, and one pop-up. It's annoying, but the rest of the site is worth it. It gives you current conditions, watches and warnings, a local radar, and a small forecast, all on one page. And you don't have to register or anything!

Okay, I'll shut up now. :D
