Photoshop project
Jan. 27th, 2006 06:46 pmSo, in my Art New Media class, I've got to create a postcard in photoshop.
Create a composition using the skills you have learned from the tutorials. It must contain all or part of one image(s) incorporated into another
Format dimensions: 4"x6" (vertical or horizontal format). Resolution: 300 pixels per inch. Photographs or art work must be scanned at 300 dpi or higher. Adding pixels later will lower image quality significantly. Final card must be 300ppi at print size, 4"x6". This works out to be a 6.18 megabytes RGB file, once flattened.
elements: two or more images included into design. Images can be photographs, sketches, paintings, scanned objects, captures from a digital camera, etc. It is preferable that you use one or more of your own photographs or artwork. No camera? The scanner is a camera so let your imagination run wild.
idea: choose a purpose for your postcard. You can design this for yourself or a client. It can be nearly anything of your choosing. It can be a self promotion for your business, band, or artwork. Or a party invitation -- perhaps with a theme (dog fashion show). Or you might have a favorite annual event you'd like to promote (Run for the Hungry, Kinetic Sculpture Race, River Clean-Up). Or you're having a family reunion. Perhaps you'd like to announce the arrival of your new daughter, tell folks you moved, quit smoking, learned how to fly a plane, or some other milestone. Make a card sending a message to the world about something you believe in. Or create a tribute to your favorite performer, artist, scientist, political activist, animal. Be humorous or satirical if you want. The sky is really the limit here.
So...what should I do?
