You know, after my own musings on the nature of God (found here) and faith (found here), I wanted to make sure I put a prominent link to myself somewhere to the things Teresa Nielsen Hayden believes. Which resonates with me somehow.

Just a thought.

It's a fascinating discussion. I remember reading it and wanting to link it, and then it came up out of the blue in another blog post recently...and since I've been musing on the nature of faith and God, it just seemed like a very appropriate time.

I like the Espiscopalians. [livejournal.com profile] jillcaligirl is one, and the one service I've been to with her wasn't *uncomfortable*. I like sitting through Catholic masses as well. I've always been fond of ritual as a method of worshiping the divine. And that line about proclaiming the mystery of faith always makes me feel, well, in awe of God and His creation -- that He created creatures who could stare up at the sky and *wonder*.

But there's the Jesus problem, and I've mentioned this a few times. Maybe it's too much fundy church as a kid, maybe it's something that came along with my edjucamation, but I can't quite bring myself to believe that Jesus was any more divine than you or I. And right now, that's the big stumbling block between me and Christianity.

So I guess I'll stay a Unitarian. For the moment anyway. The neat thing about spirituality is that one can change one's mind. :)

If you can believe in God, creator of all that is seen and unseen, why balk at the idea that he could incarnate himself within his own creation? I mean, he's God. If anyone can do it, he can.
