design work sucks.

I'm a writer, not a goddamn graphic artist!

(yeah, final project is sucking, and I need to figure out how to write CSS to turn this image mockup (warning, big graphic file) into a webpage. The thing is, if I get it finished, then I'll have a template to design the entire site by. The dark grey is where the logo's going to go, when I come up with one of those.)

oh yeah, and Loren Ipsum is just a fancy way of writing "text goes here."

Here are a couple of resources:

http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
http://www.htmlhelp.com/reference/css/
http://www.alistapart.com/topics/css/
http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/edge/

That should get you started with some ideas, I hope. Ask me tonight if you need more help or debugging, 'k?

yeah, I have a book, too, and I'm about to go print the NFZ's stylesheet and main page so I can get some idea. I learn better from looking at code and making it work.

...or I might go nap a bit and see if that makes my head more inclined to cooperate. Either way, I'll catch y'tonight.

http://glish.com/css/ has been a good source for me to steal CSS from.

And if you want really extreme examples of CSS - http://www.csszengarden.com/

Well, it means more than just 'text goes here'. It also demonstrates how text will fill a page, and is used to showcase fonts.
