In other news, I priced tickets for YHZ-SFO (Halifax-San Francisco) for <user site="livejournal.com" user="zibblsnrt">'s hopeful trip out here, and found out it's outside the budget I can afford. It could be cheaper to go the other way, 'cause then I could use priceline and stuff, but...that means he wouldn't be able to come to my graduation and meet my folks...
but on the other hand, it looks like he won't be coming at all, so that really sucks.

Try Halifax to the closest big US airport (Chicago or Boston or NYC. Maybe D.C.. Hell try Denver too.) that might have low fares. Look at that as one ticket. Then find connecting flights within the US separately through Priceline, Orbitz, or whoever.
If he has to do an overnight, we all know there are Callahanians to be found about everywhere.
This may bring the price down considerably.
