I got a ping back! I got a ping back!

In short, the situation that I was ruminating on in the next to last post seems to have been mostly resolved, so I feel a lot better.

Now, does anybody know anything about BitTorrent?

BitTorrent is a distributed download engine. You run BT locally, and request a download from a BT-enabled server. The server will try to route your client to a group of BT clients near you, and those clients will stream chunks of that download to your client. Once you've received one or more chunks, your client will offer them to other clients near you who request the same download.

BT is a sourceforge project, you can actually find out quite a bit about it from there. If you're looking for stuff to download btsites.tk keeps a good list of places and what they have.
