so, the universe hates me...

So...in the aftermath of Juan, _ers_ and her folks lost their phone service. (_ers_ is zibblsnrt's next door neighbor.) Anyway, today MTT (the Haligonian phone company) was out to fix the line, and in the process managed to cross some wires and now zibblsnrt has _ers_'s phone number, and vice versa. And because DSL is hooked to a phone line, this means Zibb's internet is out as well. MTT says they'll send somebody out on the 15th to fix it.

Great, so I'm without Zibb for a week and a half. Yeah, I can call him, and will, but I nearly went crazy in dealing with the three days the lights were out right after Juan. And I really shouldn't (and can't) call every night for the next week and a half.

So yeah. Whatever climbing out of the depression I've managed to do is gone, since the light at the end of the tunnel turned out to be an oncoming train. And I don't know how I'm going to make it through the next week and a half, since my hard ground in a storm has gone missing through no fault of his own...but I'm convinced it's further proof the universe hates me and doesn't want me to be happy.

It figures.

UPDATE (10/05/03 7:30 PM): Clout is and will be applied, and there will be line crews in trouble, and Zibb should hopefully be back by Tuesday, which makes me feel a lot better. And that's about it.
