It's that time of year again, when Cal football returns to Memorial Stadium. For the first time since I've been a Cal fan, the axe has been in its trophy case in the student union and all is well with the world. So yeah, that score from last week looks bad, but K State is one of the better programs in the country, and we return one starter on defense and nobody in the backfield, IIRC.
Anyway, today's the home opener and I'm looking forward to it. We play Southern Miss, who isn't too bad. I hope we can win this one, though. It's just nice to be going to Memorial again. :)
And a giggle I got out of yesterday's Chron. It seems UC Davis (
jillcaligirl's school, they're in the process of moving up from Div II to Div I-AA in football) came over to Stanford (which is a Div I-A program) for a scrimmage. And there wasn't an official score kept, because it was a scrimmage, but had there been one, the final score would have been Stanford 13, UC Davis 17. Go Aggies!
But more importantly, GO BEARS! :)
