Looking for good CSS and Javascript tutorials. Any help would be appreciated.

(And to save [livejournal.com profile] zibblsnrt from smarting off here too, I'm looking for ones that you've used or pointed others two. My big problem ATM is with http://www.retstak.org/news/ and trying to get that empty side gone, and learning enough javascript to be able to teach it in a somewhat coherent manner.)

Tutorials-smutmorials... I recommend http://www.blooberry.com/indexdot/css/index.html for CSS. It's a nice place to just look up what you need. And if you want to "learn" the concept overall, it's not that hard to do by just looking at the examples.
I looked at your site, what are you trying to do with JavaScript? I don't know any tutorials, but if there is something specific you're trying to do, I should be able to help...
(and in case you're wondering, I read galith's friends page, which you're listed on, so I've been passively following your LJ for a couple months now)

PageResource is really good for tutorials of all sorts.
Mulder's Stylesheets is great for CSS

Your reply page is all buggered up. The background is blue, and so are many of the words. Like next to the radio buttons above the reply, and beside the text boxes, I can see no words. They only show up if I highlight them.

Hey! Way cool new look

I like it a lot more than the previous one. Go you. Can't answer your question though, as I know neither CSS or JSP (but am also considering learning both). Have you checked the Java site at Java.sun.com? I would go find you a more direct link, but my connection is acting up :-(

I believe I have spotted a Typo - In the top right corner box, shouldn't that be "Personally"?? Do I get a prize? ;-)

I learned CSS and Javascript from the school of hard knocks: CSS from the w3's standards, and Javascript/Ecmascript from other peoples' code plus Mozilla's strict mode. An important part of Javascript is the DOM. I believe Sun has DOM tutorials hidden on their site somewhere.

For your site, try commenting-out #content.margin-left in styles-site.css

it's because of this:

#content {
position:absolute;
background:#FFF;
margin-right:20px;
margin-left:225px;
margin-bottom:20px;
border:1px solid #FFF;
width: 70%;
}

because margin-left applies to the
, and everything else inside it.
