I know, she should fix this. But golly, a couple of squirts could bring a lot of peace.

(Actually, I've found that a bit of hard soap or candle wax in the hinge is even better than the ol' WD, but it means wrestling with the door a bit, which might cause comment. What with the incense and all, the WD will probably slip by unnoticed.)

Yeah. the only big problem is that the door opens into the room. Thus the hinges are on the room side of the door, and not the common area side of the door. Thus to use the WD-40 on her hinges, I'd have to get in her room, and she's smart about locking her door when she's not around...

Ah well, I only have to put up with it for another month or so...

Well, I'd buy the goo, decorate it with a HUGE ribbon bow, and leave it outside the door, but that might just add fuel to the fire, as it were.

Hmmm... do you have an acoustic tile ceiling and a really skinny friend with a perverse sense of humor? Back in my salad days, we once broke into a locked office through such a ceiling and left little "amusing" notes for the regular inhabitants thereof.

Dammit, there's got to be a way to solve this... you go about your business, and we netizens will apply our minds. Problem in practical social science! Test at 11!

Granted, I could just go over to the unit office and file the maintenance request *for* her, but...still annoying that she won't do it. Then again, maybe it's not bugging her. She's not exactly known for her consideration of others.
