Kevin Fox. I don't know how I stumbled across his blog in the first place (IIRC, it was [livejournal.com profile] phenyx's fault, but I added his page to my syndication when syndication started on LJ ([livejournal.com profile] furydotcom for those of you who are curious), but today, he had this very long and interesting thought.

The short of it, is that now is seriously the point where I'm really seriously starting to look north. To be utterly honest, I'm not sure there's anything here for me anymore, but then again, I'm not sure where on this godforsaken rock I can get away from it? And nobody really seems to understand?

As Kevin put it:
" Our government has told the world that they're either with us or against us, and if they don't like the way we run the world, well, then they just might be next on our list. This is the same ultimatum that's also being given to the people of our country.

"How wrong is it that I fear a repeat election in 2004 more than anything that Iraq, Al Qaeda, or even North Korea could do?

"How can we stop this ride? I want to get off."

How do we stop it? :P

The short answer is, we can't stop it.

Bush isn't the cause of all this, or even a major part really. He's a symptom of a much wider 'disease' of society. Face it, we live in world run by unelected behind-the-scenes special interest groups, lobbists and big-business bribery. Bush is just the Patsy put there in case it all blows up, he's the fall guy.

Oh and lets make no mistake here, voter apathy is being encouraged by the media. It doesn't help the PTB to have people take an interest in what's happening. Although there is a pretty large chunk of that silent majority that don't vote because they've realised that voting makes no difference actually.

So the choice boils down to, are we ready for a revolution, or would it be easier to just keep your head down and ride out the storm.

The majority of people are doing the latter. But if it ever reaches the stge where it looks like that might not be a safe option. Well, if there is no recourse to legal means to express our discontent, then there is only one option left.
