I figured you'd like this article from SFgate.com: Carquinez Bridge's progress fascinates sightseers

It's about the new suspension Carquinez Straight bridge. And they're naming it after a guy that built a bunch of bridges in Northern California, and even survived a fall from the Golden Gate when he was working on that one.

This is nifty.

I have an unexplained fascination for bridges. of course, claustraphobia doesn't hurt...cramped closed places bad, wide open good.

The few times I've actually gotten to see the building of the new Carquinez bridge, I've found it pretty neat.

Yeah, bridges are cool. I need to hike the Golden Gate at some point.
