He doesn't want prayers, he doesn't want good lucks or any of that, but...I can't let him go without one thought. And that is thus:

I understand . . . I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

He just wants to begin over again, without having to worry about the people he knew, and he doesn't want the people he knew to worry about him, either.
