For the record, I don't think he's so much stupid as mean-spirited, but that's just me.

On a more serious note, William Safire's latest editorial (sorry, it's NYT, google for how to get around that) is pretty damned scary. Not a good day to be an American.

Maybe it is time to explore routes to becoming a Canadian immigrant...either that, or hope the Repubs in congress tend to be more libertarian (gah) than authoritarian. (yes, I can't believe I just said that, but...)

Fat lot of good it's going to do, my congresscritters are, in order:

Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Berkeley.
Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-California.
Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-California.

Although my mom's congresscritter is Rep. Wally Herger, R-Yuba City? (I think, not sure which small northern california town he hails from.) and since I grew up in that constituency, he might listen to me even though I no longer live in Redding.

Speaking of which, apperantly "San Francisco Liberal" is a slam now. :P

But yeah, I'll try anyway. This is too scary.
