There are days when I'm completely convinced that even if, by some miracle, I achieved perfection, it still wouldn't be good enough for my parents.

So remind me again, why am I even trying?

because, believe it or not, sucess or failure in life is not determined based on parental approval. Live so that you are good enough for you, or, if that isn't enough, remember that there are plenty of people out here who think you're super nifty, regardless of your parents opinion.
