katster: (sleepy)
First, I have been working on a web page for my advanced web design class, and it's coming together pretty well. You can see it here if you're curious, and while the lorem ipsum will be replaced with a biography of me, and that it doesn't look as good as I'd like in IE (stupid IE), it looks nearly spot on to what I wanted in Mozilla, which makes me pretty happy. It was funny, though, because [livejournal.com profile] macklinr put me on the right path this evening, but I didn't quite figure it out until he stumbled off the moo. I really need to catch up with him and buy him a beer or something, though. :)

Other than that, I have so much to do and so little time, so here's a list to keep my mind on track of the stuff I need to do. no need to click unless you actually care about minutae of katster's todo list )

whew, I think that's it.

But bed first.

Dealing with two different browsers and their odd quirks is a pain in the ass. So here's the problem I'm dealing with.

The first picture is IE, the second picture is Firefox. Both of these are on Windows.

The problem is that the blue box is big and puffy in Firefox, and not so in IE.

Does anybody whose CSS knowledge is better than mine tell me how to make those look closer alike? I don't really care whether the blue box is puffy or thin (I slightly prefer the puffy box, but I'm more concerned about making them look similar.)

The page in question is the page linked in my prior entry and here.

Note

My main blog is kept at retstak.org. I mirror posts to this Dreamwidth account, so feel free to read and comment either here or there.
