I can move to Canada tomorrow if I so felt like it. Or, well, close. :) but I guess you don't have to be married to a Canadian to get across the border, but simply prove that you have been in a relationship with one for twelve months. Oh yeah, and the Canadian has to prove that he/she can support you for three years, but...

Family history.

One of the things I'd really like to do is find the old family homestead near Jenner Lake, Alberta. My great-grandfather was born there, in the summer of 1915, and it'd be a fun connection, even if it's no longer what it used to be.

So, where's Jenner, you ask? Well, here's a map, zoomed out, so you can see where it is in relationship to Calgary. It's northwest of Medicine Hat.

(Interestingly enough, typing '"jenner lake" alberta' into Google pops up only one record, which happens to be an entry in somebody's geneology program. The girl born at Jenner Lake, is my great-grandfather's older sister, though. :)

And I need to put in a call to the Canadian consulate, on the offhand chance I might be able to claim citizenship from him. I know, offhand, the chance is very small, because neither my grandmother nor my father put in the effort to keep it, but I'd be interested in what they have to say if I can prove that grandma nor dad knew they were eligible.

I mean, it's not going to be that difficult to earn Canadian citizenship the hard way, this just would make it a lot easier. :)

But yeah, I'll go to bed now.
