oh yeah, I've been meaning to mention this.

what is up with that allergy terrorism index? I mean, yeah, it's pretty, but will we *ever* get out of yellow? And if we do, isn't that just a huge sign to anybody who's going to attack that now's the perfect time, people's guards are down?

And will these become a regular feature of the weather hour?

"Yes, today's allergy index is orange, today's pollution index is red, as is the heat index. The terrorism index is blue, though, so while you might want to stay indoors and keep those windows closed, you don't have to worry about the strange looking guys moving in down the street..."

"We have always been at war with Eastasia..." ... sorry, that's the first thing that popped into my head. But with regards to whether the terror index will ever drop below yellow, well... I think this has something to do with the ethereal goals of the whole campaign. Bush&Co. (a wholly owned subsidiary of America the Great Inc.) are on a mission to destroy terrorism wherever they find it, and thus somehow eliminate anyone who might attack the US. Thus, when you've eliminated anyone who might have cause or means to attack the US, there will be nobody who's going to attack, so you can set your terror index back down to green or whatever.

I don't think that Bush&Co. understand how terrorism works. It's not as though (Al-Qaeda+the Axis of Evil of this week) are the Single Unified Body of Terrorists, and that destroying them will make the world safe for capitalism and apple pie. People with grudges, justified or not, will always exist. The access to means of terror will more or less always exist, this being an imperfect world.

For some reason, I lack the motivation this morning to get into a full rant about my theories as to why the people of the first part actually get around to using the weapons of the second part. Ask me some other time.
