Poking through the pile of old newspapers on the kitchen table, I found Monday's paper. And I'm surprised nobody mentioned this before.

In Monday's paper on the bottom of the front page, is a small article. "Switzerland to join UN". It becomes the hundred ninetieth country to join the UN, and leaves only the Vatican outside the world body.

Well...I thought it was interesting.

But I'm off to bed now. G'night LJ world!

Heh, that reminds me. I need to finish reading that book I started on the history of the Swiss Army (and swiss isolationism in general). I really have to admire the Swiss for a) having (what I consider) such an idealistic conception of an army and b) sticking to it. The geography of the region doesn't hurt much either.


Heh, it also reminds me of Newfoundland joining Confederation in the 1950s for some reason.
