Date: 2001-12-11 05:35 pm (UTC)Rowling is a pretty good author, she can engage a reader pretty well and does seem to know story structure; I liked using the quiddich match in the beginning of the fourth book to set up the end, Chekov's gun on the wall and all. She does have a really annoying habit of putting way too much exposition in her stories though, I don't know if it's because she's an inexperienced writer, a children's writer, or if it's just a bad habit. It hasn't been announced when the fifth book is being released yet, all I've seen is sometime next year.
