Wind chill. I knew what it was, but I was reminded of it today in DC, when the block walk from Metro to museum was full of cold.

And now, the night is full of cold because the wind is blowing hard.

It's my last night in Baltimore, so y'all can have a picture from Air and Space Museum today:

Look what's hanging in the Air and Space Museum!

I went to the Holocaust museum, which was sobering, as it should be (but definitely worth the trip) and the Air and Space Museum. I need to get back to DC and poke around other places too.

It's been a wild trip. There will be more later.

It's a reproduction, like the SS1 here in St. Louis. The original is the one in the photos.

I know.

Out of curiosity, why does St. Louis have a Spaceship one?

(bakersfield's got one because we're the county seat for Kern county, which is where Mojave spaceport is located)

The X-Prize Foundation is here in St. Louis. We also have a few other X-Prize replicas -- you can clearly see the Armadillo Aerospace entry replica from the street in front of the original Science Center building in Forest Park. Armadillo is still working on stuff -- most recently, they came quite close to winning a lunar lander challenge. They still have a lot of problems, but this stuff isn't easy, and at least their entry is more than paperwork and fiberglass concept models like most of the others that STILL haven't launched a single vehicle. I have no respect for that, but the two that are still trying (Scaled and Armadillo) are doing a pretty good job.

And I can say that I've put money toward private space research, too, since I've got a couple of id's games.
