The short of it? I had fun. I'm going to try to write up a detailed report, maybe on the plane tomorrow. But yeah. Rock and frickin roll, now I've been to the East Coast.

Funny place, the East Coast...

Did you notice how it rains there, even in the summertime? The first time I visited there in summer (I was just a kid) I was flabbergasted at the idea of summertime rain.

They're also big on bricks-for-construction, which as a Californian I find disquieting... it isn't up to code (come the big earthquake).

Amusingly, when I was a young(er) woman I had an older friend who had grown up in Luxemborg and come to this country as a WWII refugee. She said that when she first came to America she wondered why everyone was so poor--the houses were built out of wood and bricks, and only poor people built with such materials in Luxemborg. Real houses are made from stone, of course!
