okay. I'm a bookworm. I confess.

There are, in my living room, eight boxes full of nothing but books. I'm maybe halfway through packing the collection.

To make it even scarier, this is just the part of the collection I took down to Oakland with me, or have picked up in the meantime. There's probably another couple dozen boxes worth in Redding. ph33r.

just a warning of what you're heading for...

when my stuff was put into storage in the fall of 2002, there were 114 cartons of books, according to the person who stowed them in the locker.

Only eight? I count my books in bookcases. Lessee. One in the kitchen...plus a stack. Two in the dining room. One in the game room, six in the living room, one in each child's room, five in my office, and one small one in my bedroom. That comes to eighteen bookcases in my house...I still have room in a couple of them, so let's say fourteen full sized full ones. That's why I'm a homeowner. With any luck I won't have to move again for at least ten years.

Hmmmmm... five bookcases in the living room, not counting the built-in between the living room & dining room (double-sided), two in the dining room, one each in the kids' rooms, one same size & one small paperback & 2 45.5 wide 7 shelf cases in my bedroom. Mind you that some of these cases are double stacked already as well as having books going sideways. ::innocent look:: as the infamous shirt (wish I owned it) says "You say you need more bookcases? Well, of course you need more bookcases! If you didn't need more bookcases, you wouldn't be worth knowing!" I really need new cases made for the back wall in the bedroom to go from one end to the other and then a floor to ceiling in that other corner which will free up the bookcase that's there to move to the living room where I'll start putting them back to back...

Sadly, I just realized the other day that I need another bookcase and I can't find a spot to put it. I have a sad little stack of boxes filled with books sitting in front of the last one I bought. My boyfriend is going to think I only date him for his handywork at assembling bookcases for me. tehe :)
