This doesn't surprise me, simply because I've always considered myself somewhat of a civil libertarian, but true libertarian ideas on the economy out and out scare me. I honestly believe that we, as a society, should always look towards helping those in our society who, mostly for reasons that are no fault of their own, poor and sick and hurting. Hence, that's one of the reasons I've always been for nationalized health care (that, and I'm faced with the prospect that because of my genetic makeup, which I had no say over, I may not be able to get health insurance, or it'll be very expensive). But I'll not rant.

Y'see, I think taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized society. Which means that Luns' joke about metric being used in "civilized countries" may be closer to the truth than he or I realize.
