Ack! The Finns are invading!

Well, the Finnish Parliament is hanging out at South Hall, anyway. I'm not quite sure why, but they're here, and they're awing those of us who are Americans who hang out here by having no bodyguards. They really do things differently up there in Scandinavia!

Anyway, I have to go run and take an exam, so wish me luck.

It's the same way in Iceland. The presidents house there is out in the open, no fences, no guards. Anyone could walk up and knock on the door. So the question is...

Is it that way because they're better leaders than ours are and the people have no reason to attack them, or is it that way here because our leaders are that much worse and truely deserve attacking? ;)

It was similar when we had the WTO Agriculture people visiting Davis, of course they need their security because of all the demostrators. I remember when I catered the event for the Jehan Sedat and all her security. I think that she had more security then the president- at least more than the Queen of England. I was glared at about a billion times by them. It was scary, but really cool. The fact is that all the people at school mostly want to be here so I think that there is any real danger (except maybe to the Republican party which calls themselves the only campus party).

2) are true democracies, and not neo-Roman Republics that consider elected officials "Something Special" - above the commoners.
