Well, yeah, but we're supposed to be the liberal state, so I really start worrying when things turn out like thiey did tonight. And I've not been all that thrilled about the national political scene either as of late.
OTOH, maybe Governor Arnold won't be the end of the world. I mean, right now I have to seriously question the right state of mind of anybody who wanted the job, and it's going to be fun seeing how he handles things. (I mean, to raise taxes or not to raise taxes, he's on the horns of a dilemma.)
Anyway, yeah, I'm well aware California is not the whole US, and we're kinda in our own little universe out here, but still. It bothers me that in my state, where I felt mostly okay being a liberal Dem, turned out this way...staring at the rest of y'all, I start wondering if this is the country I believed in.
But that's a lot of my personal politics coming into play here, matched with some bitterness, which led to my post.
Line for the recall petitions starts at kat. If the GOP wants a war so badly, then by all the gods in all the books I see no reason not to give them one.
'Cause everyone knows you can enjoy a circus as it proceeds to further derail your state or country's economy, reputation, politics and society. I love how many people are considering it ever so entertaining that the state now has a governor who refuses to allow his wife to wear pants. Every woman in California should resent having someone like that in charge of their homes, to say nothing of the guys.
Such things are a lot easier to sit back and enjoy when you're not in the middle of them, being affected by them, and possibly suffering due to them.
As an Israeli, you have no business not knowing that particular rule of life.
It could be worse, I suppose. It could devolve to a Somalia-esque situation. Though that will probably wait for sometime next year, and involve the whole country.
"Get on the warlord bandwagon! Sign up for your faction today!"
I'm torn, really. On the one hand, this would be an ideal chance to actually begin to build the IAS - God knows the People's Republic of Boulder would make for an excellent (if windy) capitol. On the other hand, my organizational skills are sporadic at best, so my bid for warlordship isn't a sure thing.
On the gripping hand, I like the comfortable life, so I'll probably be signing onto the "get out of the fucking country" horde. Look for me in a boatload of Chinese illegals coming up the coast from the Yucatan.
Put Alberta, or at least most of it, to the torch if you do, wouldja? The Get Out Of The Fucking Country Horde would likely consist of types I wouldn't mind up here, so we'll let you guys have the prarie provinces provided you clean up before yourselves.

On the other-hand, nether can **I** get elected.
Hmmm, Gotta change that pesky Constitution!
Personally, I can't think of a more fitting government for Cali-For-Ni-A.
Doing the Governator dance!
