what a weekend.

it's been an interesting weekend. Interesting in the Chinese sense.

I start the day Thursday by discovering that I have suddenly acquired a three day notice to pay rent or quit. After some investigation, it turns out the management company that serves as my landlord forgot to credit the cashier's check I gave them for my deposit. So that's being worked on, but I've got proof that I paid it, so they can't kick me out.

Then I spent most of Friday and some of Saturday down with the stomach flu. Yay.

And today, I was a moron. I attempted to transfer some boiling hot water in a coffee cup that I had just nuked to a ramen cup, and learned the hard way why you set the ramen cup *down* on something instead of attempting to hold the ramen cup as you're pouring water into it. Luckily for me, the ER doctor just said it was a very nasty first degree burn, and that popping the blisters wasn't a good idea, wrapped it up, and wrote me a prescription for the happy drugs.

And I've just taken the happy drugs and it's time for me to go to bed.

(No, that mood's not a mistake. Tylenol with codiene is a lot of fun...)

OUCH! Blisters means second degree according to my first aid, but I'm sure the doc would be better equipped to tell you. Well, almost sure... (doctor issues, major ones).

I'm glad you got treatment! And I'm glad you have proof you paid your rent! Whew!

Whenever painkillers come up in a conversation, I remember a conversation between kap and Fire awhile back, listening to them rate various painkillers based on how fun they were...

Dunno if I want soup, because it was soup that got me in this boat in the first place. (Okay, well, ramen, but close enough...)

Yeah. It might be borderline. It was hard to tell, because the thumb was pruny from all the water we used to cool the burn. But I had to change out the bandage tonight, and it's all shiny, so it was definitely a bad burn.

And yeah, those were paid with cashier's checks, and my mom still had all the stubs, so...it was nicely reassuring to hear the bank say all the checks were cashed. So it's all good. It's just getting the incompetents at the property management office to pay attention.

And then I have a check sitting on my desk for October through January's rent. that makes me feel happy. :)

So yeah, I'm in decent spirits. :)

I don't remember what I got when I had my tonsils removed, I just remember two weeks of not being able to talk or eat anything more substantial than a popsicle. It sucked. :P
