I leave my computer and come back, and find Norton had quarantened MSBlaster.

I guess it's time to patch tonight... :)

I'm actually a bit surprised NAV caught it.

I was playing around at work today with it on an infected machine, seeing what would and what wouldn't catch it if scanned, and I had an updated copy of NAV2003 that didn't catch it. Hmmmm. Then again it wouldn't be the first time LiveUpdate lied. Oh well. I stopped trying to figure out Norton a long time ago, heh heh...

Incidentally I saw a box today that had no less that 80-some different instances of, probably 25-30 different worms/trojans/viruses on it. How the heck does someone get that many? I would think I could be deliberately TRYING to get infected and I wouldn't be able to dig up that many different ones, heh...

It's a nice serendipity that 3 days before the virus hit, I got a loan of a clamshell mac laptop. I'd never had a virus on any machine I've ever owned, mainly because I don't use outlook. This one wouldn't have mattered, and would have infected my computer no matter what, but the switch to a mac left me safe.

I have antivirus luck.
