I can't stay at home, but I've never walked into a semester I'm dreading as much as this one. I hate SIMS. I hate my advisor, I hate a few of the instructors, I hate most everything about it.

but I have to, and it's conflicting the hell out of me.

i hate grad school.

Ya' know what? Through all that adversity there will still manage to be a good day or two. And they will be all that much sweeter for having been rooted out of the adversity.

Whew. Hugs to you! Here I am bouncing around because I just got into grad school, and you're racing to get out. It will end. You will get through it. And I bet if you try really hard, you'll find one or two things to enjoy (even if it's drawing caricatures of your hated professors in your notebook)

Or maybe you can play the "pretentous grad student" game, making up wild theories related to your studies and talking about them constantly, cutting off in mid sentence anyone who tells you how ridiculous they are, and frantically scribbling "notes" on a legal pad as you sit around campus people watching. At least you'd be amused.

I hope things look brighter as the semester continues.
